John 3 v 16

For God so loved the world
that He gave His only begotten Son
That whoever believes in Him
should not perish, but have everlasting life
God so loved
I wonder what is the greatest demonstration of love you have experienced
Is it the diamond engagement ring? The anniversary gift?
Perhaps someone has shown some great kindness toward you?
There are many ways in which we can show our love.
However none is so great as God's demonstration of His love
the Bible tells me
"God demonstrated His love towards us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us" Rom 5 v 8
That is the greatest act of love this world has ever seen

That He gave
What did God give? His only begotten Son. That which was most precious God gave. He could not give anything greater. That was because God required someone to take our place
" The Father (God) sent the Son (Jesus) to be the Saviour of the world. 1 John 4 v 14
This is the greatest gift this world has ever seen

That whoever believes in Him
What are we asked to believe in? The death, burial & resurrection of Jesus Christ. God sent His Son to die for us, so that He could take the punishment for our sins
His own self (Jesus) bore our sins in His own body on them tree (cross). 1Peter 2 v 24

should not perish but have everlasting life
All of our wrongs are sin against God.
The Bible makes it clear that every single person on the planet today has sinned against God. That sin should be punished by a Holy God. that punishment should be eternal judgement and
all need God's forgiveness. He offers that to you today!
By abandoning your sin and placing your faith (Trust) in His work of the cross you can know that forgiveness and be brought into a relationship with God which will be eternal.

Jesus said.....
"I give unto them Eternal Life and they shall never perish"

Jesus said "I am the Light of the world"
John Ch 8 v 12
The Lord Jesus claimed to be the "Light of the world" He could say
"He who follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life"
The darkness that the Bible speaks of is SIN.
Only when we trust in Jesus as our Saviour can we 'walk in the light'.
The Lord Jesus is the Light of the world because He is the only one who can take away the darkness.

When He died upon the cross at Calvary He took the judgement for our sin.
By trusting in Him we can have our sin forgiven and 'walk in the light'.
